PMMA Temporary Crowns and Bridges
Provisional restorations and design try-ins in PMMA, designed in Exocad for each case.

What is PMMA?
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) is a dental acrylic resin. In CAD/CAM work it comes as prefabricated discs or blocks — a uniform material that polishes well, which suits temporary restorations.
What is it used for?
- Temporary crowns and bridges while the final restoration is being made.
- Temporaries during healing or while implants fuse with the bone, depending on the treatment plan.
- Design try-ins to check shape, look and bite before the final work.
PMMA is a temporary material: how long it can stay in is up to the dentist, case by case. For strong, permanent restorations, see zirconia.
Why a digitally designed temporary?
- It can follow the same design plan as the final restoration.
- Good fit and surface finish.
- The design is saved, so it can be reproduced if a replacement is needed.
